She obtained her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Penn State University in 2007 and her subspecialties were human development and family studies and psychiatric rehabilitation. Her dissertation study focused on the needs of parents and children in families where the children were adopted out of the US foster care system.  An affiliate professor at PSU, she continues to research the treatment of wounded individuals & families through a holistic program of care & holds the following credentials: Registered ATTACh Clinician, Certified EMDR Clinician and Approved Consultant (EMDRIA), Certified Attachment Focused Family Therapist, Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified IFS Clinician (Center for Self Leadership). She treats children, adolescents, & adults  comprehensively to heal wounds of trauma & attachment.

From January 2011 until January 2017 , Lois was a board member of the National ATTACh organization. For many years ATTACh was the only organization that monitored and regulated professionals providing attachment therapy to children. You can learn more about ATTACh by clicking on the following link

Lois was excited to be part of the ATTACh Board of Directors and enjoyed serving the board, ATTACh members and clinicians and parents who attempted to help traumatized children in their healing journeys. Due to family changes Lois resigned from the ATTACh Board of Directors but remains committed to ATTACh's mission through her continued membership and Registration as a Clinical Member.
